Food Technology

Initially, for this course ākonga will undertake a Unit Standard assessment, whereby they demonstrate knowledge of nutrition in commercial catering, alongside preparing dishes to suit dietary needs. This then leads onto their main project of the year– where they will develop a prototype of a technological outcome that meets the needs of a dietary lifestyle, whilst seeking feedback from industry experts. As well as, demonstrate how forms of modelling supported their development process in an externally marked report. The combination of these assessments aim to prepare students for post secondary education.
