Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

Minimum of 10 Credits in either 11TFT/11SCI. Successful study at 11HOS or with TIC Approval. Study of 12 General Science /Biology /Chemistry is beneficial for future study or career choice.


Food Technology

Ä€konga will investigate the interesting and varied world of the Food Industry, whilst building a repertoire of practical skills.First, they will complete an industry recognised food safety certificate before implementing advanced procedures to create a specified product. The major unit of work for the year is to develop, test, trial and evaluate their own food product and ingredient suitability for today’s consumer.

Rutherford College aims to deliver educational courses over and above that which is funded by the Ministry, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant may be requested, and we appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
