Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs K. Taula, Mrs P. Fahitua.

Recommended Prior Learning

At least three year’s practical experience on a student's chosen musical instrument, standard equivalent to Grade 3 Theory, and some composition experience or by HOF approval via audition and diagnostic testing.


Music

This course develops music skills which include the study of music works, materials of music, performance, composition, aural and theory. It is mandatory for students to join music groups and attend music trips. All students will be enrolled into the Music Itinerant Scheme where they must attend a 30 minute lesson once a week with a music specialist

Costs

Rutherford College aims to deliver educational courses over and above that which is funded by the Ministry, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant may be requested, and we appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
