History

The Year 11 History course has three major components. Term One deals with New Zealand History in the 1970’s and 80’s, and covers events such as the Maori Land March, Bastion Point, the Springbok Tour and the Rainbow Warrior bombing Term Two covers Black Civil Rights in the USA and Term Three deals with major historical events; the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and the Holocaust, and explores the views surrounding them.

Rutherford College aims to deliver educational courses over and above that which is funded by the Ministry, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant may be requested, and we appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
